Unreal Engine 5
Robot Arm Rig Setup in Blender – Robot Arm System in UE5 | Part 1
Prepare a mechanical robot arm with an armature, joint placement, vertex groups, and export setup.
About this tutorial
In Part 1 of this series, we prepare a robot arm mesh in Blender so it’s ready for IK and Control Rig in Unreal Engine 5.
This part focuses on the foundation work in Blender, including:
- Setting up a clean armature for a robot arm
- Placing bones correctly for mechanical joints
- Creating and assigning vertex groups
- Binding the raw mesh to the armature
- Exporting the rig properly for Unreal Engine 5
This step is critical — a clean Blender rig makes the IK setup in UE5 much easier and more stable.
